LOS ANGELES (AP) — SoFi Stadium will begin work Monday on renovations to increase the size of its playing field area in preparation for hosting eight matches during the 2026 World Cup. “It's really just changing pre-cast concrete in the corners of the stadium to a more retractable system,” Demoff said Sunday. SoFi also will have a temporary grass field for the World Cup in place of its usual artificial turf. The changes that we will make to the stadium were always contemplated for the World Cup. Although the Los Angeles-area World Cup organizers didn't get the final, only AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will host more total matches than SoFi.

A recent Newsweek survey indicated Gen Zers didn't consider a $74,580 salary "middle class." AdvertisementAn Orlando real-estate agent sparked a conversation on TikTok after sharing a survey that suggested Gen Zers didn't consider a $74,580 annual salary "middle class," in contrast with how older generations answered. Even still, Smith suggested $74,000 was much higher than the average Gen Zers' salary. AdvertisementCorrection: January 4, 2024 — An earlier version of this story misidentified the salary in the Newsweek survey. The figure, which applied mostly to millennials, not Gen Zers, was removed from the story.

As Gen Alpha memes dominate the internet, many have ridiculed them for being too inane. Gen Zers are now reminding each other their memes have been equally as ridiculous as "Skibidi Toilet." Older generations — particularly Gen Z — worried they were falling out of touch since they didn't understand its nonsensical humor. Three of the most popular TikToks over the last few weeks feature chaotic montages recalling popular Gen Z memes. The TikToks feature hypothetical quotes on-screen about people saying Gen Alpha "is literally watching brainrot," and then include a statement insinuating that what Gen Z watched wasn't any better.

Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan is calling for University of Pennsylvania leaders to resign. AdvertisementAdvertisementApollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan is the latest business leader to slam an Ivy League institution for not taking a stronger stance against what he called antisemitism. AdvertisementAdvertisementAt the time, the university responded, saying in a statement that "we unequivocally — and emphatically — condemn antisemitism as antithetical to our institutional values." But, in light of the attack by Hamas on Israel, Rowan has said the response was not enough. "We see sickening parallels between Harvard leadership's inaction against Harvard's antisemitism and the failure by UPenn's leadership to take a stand against hate," Rowan wrote in his letter.
